This partnership between the two families, as well as their common desire to produce an outstanding Argentine wine, gave birth to Flechas de los Andes Gran Cabernet Franc.

The 2020 vintage left a lasting mark on all wines. For long-cycle varieties like Cabernet Franc, it accentuated notes of dark fruit and jam. This wine is no exception. Aged for one year in foudre, it displays a garnet color with aromas of blackcurrant, jammy hints, and notes of plum and candied cherry, kissed by the sun. Thanks to delicate extraction in the winery, the palate shows medium concentration, plush tannins, and a richness characteristic of a warm, dry year. Balanced in fruit and flavor, it’s perfect to enjoy now and over the next five years.
The 2021 vintage was ideal for Bordeaux varieties. From spring onward, cooler temperatures slowed down the cycle, with good humidity in February. This Cabernet Franc fits the vintage like a glove. Aged for one year in foudre, it opens with field herbs, ash, and a hint of hop. On the nose, it also offers fresh blackcurrant and plum, with touches of licorice and anise. The palate is agile and medium-bodied, with a silky, unctuous texture. It shows precision, freshness, and fine tannins. It’s layered and long, with great aging potential: drink now or cellar for up to 10 years.

The 2022 vintage may have been slightly overshadowed by the balance of 2021, yet it remains highly relevant for Bordeaux varieties. Being a dry year, it enhanced a slightly more concentrated profile. Aged one year in foudre, it shows aromas of fresh cherry and sour cherry, along with subtle herbal notes and a touch of oak—still youthful—and a hint of ash, typical of well-handled Cabernet Franc. On the palate, fine-grained tannins and juicy, concentrated flavor offer a delicious wine, ready to enjoy now and capable of aging gracefully over the next 15 years.
2023 marked a return to warm vintages, with extremely dry conditions. Early and late frosts were part of the cycle. Proper vineyard management was key for Cabernet Franc. At Flechas de los Andes, two harvests were conducted: the first yielded a leaner profile; the second, richer. Combined, they elevated the final expression.
Aged one year in foudre, it opens with herbal, slightly mentholated aromas, followed by notes of black cherry and ripe, almost candied cherry, over a dark fruit core that adds energy. The palate is intense, with mid-level grip and fat, and a focused finish. A vibrant wine from a complex vintage, to enjoy now or within the next 10 years.
Deep bright ruby and concentrated colour, with violet reflections.
Clean and compact aromas, delicate, with slight hints of black fruits, dried herbs and a touch of smoke.
Good volume and freshness, fluid but compact in its expressions. The attack has expression and grip, but is still vibrant. Young wine, with sustained freshness and a very spiced character that adds a certain depth to the finish.
Note:
Reddish tones of medium to high intensity. On the nose this wine expresses all the elegance of the varietal; bell pepper and roses, molded by the minerality of the terroir and some slight oak descriptors. The mouthfeel has medium intensity and a silky texture. Elegant and delicate finish that makes it possible to enjoy the varietal typicity without overpowering oak
